1961 Studebaker Lark VIII
The 1961 Studebaker Lark VIII Regal convertible had a 259.6 c.i.d. 180hp, inline V8 engine. A convertible was also offered in the Lark VI Regal model.
Dual headlights appeared on the Lark for the first time. The grille got a slightly different pattern and the grille badge was moved to the corner in 1961. The hood ornament was an option on Larks.
Larks did have a fairly high lift over height on the trunk lid. The gas filler door was between the license plate and the right hand taillight.
This is one of the antique cars and trucks we saw at the 2009 Studebaker Drivers Club National Meet in Cedar Rapids, Iowa.

Smallish round backup lights rode between the taillights and the rear bumper. The bumper guards were a $10.00 option.
The Flightomatic automatic transmission was a $200.00 option. The tissue dispenser was an option as was the radio.
We don't own these cars, we just saw them at car shows and snapped a few photos.
