1955 Studebaker Commander
This is a 1955 Studebaker Commander Deluxe Coupe. Commanders were powered by V8 engines, the size of the engine depends on when the car was built.
Cars built early in the model year used a 224 c.i.d., 140hp V8, those built later used a 259 c.i.d 162hp V8.
The Deluxe was the mid level Commander and lacked the full length wide side trim that widened at the back of the door and was standard came on the Regal.
This is one of the antique cars and trucks we saw at the 2009 Studebaker Drivers Club National Meet in Cedar Rapids, Iowa

Studebaker Car Pictures
The back of this car shows the optional dual exhaust and lack of backup lights. Note the full wheel covers which were an option as were thee whitewall tires.
A wide nameplate that contained the Studebaker name on the left and the Commander series name on the right sat just above the bumper.
We don't own these cars, we just saw them at car shows and snapped a few photos.
