1968 Chevy CorvetteThe 1968 Chevy Corvette was completely restyled and was several inches longer and a couple inches lower than the 1967 model.
A coupe and convertible were offered in 1968. The Sting Ray name was dropped, but only for the 1968 model year. Split bumpers dropped down on either side of the license plate. Side marker lights appeared just ahead of the rear bumper and under the tip of the front bumper. Backup lights were located under the rear bumpers where they turned downward next to the rear license plate. A 300hp, 327 c.i.d. V8 was standard equipment as was a 3 speed manual transmission with a floor mounted shift. Engine options went up to the L88 427 c.i.d. 430hp V8.
