1955 Studebaker SpeedsterThe top of the line Studebaker for 1955 was the President Speedster hardtop coupe.
Like all President models it used a 259 c.i.d. 175hp, V8 engine. An Automatic Drive transmission was standard on Speedsters. Small vent doors on the front fenders provided cooling and ventilation for the passenger compartment. This basic two door hardtop body style was also available in the Champion, Commander and President series. An easy way to spot a Speedster is by the wide chrome trim running over the roof just ahead of the rear window.
