1942 Studebaker Commander1942 Studebaker Commanders were available in three body styles, including this four door Custom Land Cruiser.
The other body styles were a two door coupe and a six window four door Cruising Sedan. The large fog lights near each end of the "new for 42" grille were optional. The rear fenders feature an interesting sculptured look. Power was supplied by a 226 c.i.d., 94hp inline six cylinder engine. With a wheelbase of 116.5 and an overall length of 210 inches made the Comander the mid sized Studebaker in 1942. The entry level Champion was 17 inches shorter overall, and the top of the line President was about 5 inches longer than the Commander.
