1951 Mercury Monterey

The 1951 Mercury Monterey Sport Coupe came with a vinyl or canvas roof covering as standard equipment.

Fender skirts were optional, as were white wall tires. Rear fenders now extended a few inches beyond the trunk lid. The wheelbase remained at 118 inches.

Power came from a 255 cubic inch V8 engine. Horsepower increased from 110 to 112 this year.

A three speed manual transmission was standard while overdrive or a Merc-O-Matic automatic transmissions were available as options.
