1961 Lincoln Continental

The 1961 Lincoln Continental was a dramaticly redesigned car. Slab sides and very smooth lines were very evident. A new four door convertible and a four door pillared hardtop were the only body styles.

The rear doors were hinged at the back. This new design would influence Lincoln styling for over many years.

Continental was now the only series of Lincolns.

The new design was a little smaller with the overall length dropping to 212.4 inches from 227 and the wheelbase being reduced from 131 inches to 123.
