1958 Lincoln Continental
In 1958 Continental was again part of the Lincoln lineup. This one
was one of the 10,000 or so cars at the MSRA Back to the 50s' Weekend
in St. Paul, MN on June 20 - 22, 2003.
To say the new Continental Mark III was large and luxurious would be
an understatement of major proportions.
The wheelbase was 131 inches with a 229 inch overall length. Like all
1958 Lincolns they had a 430 cubic inch, 350hp V8 engine.
Convertibles had a steel boot that flipped up and back to allow the
top to be raisded or lowered. This eliminated the need for a vinyl boot.
The pattern from the grille was repeated in the panel around and between
