1956 Continental
Mark II Convertible

This 1956 Continental Mark II convertible was converted by Hess and Eisenhardt.

This is one of only two Continental Mark II convertibles the Ford Motor Company had constructed. Unfortunately, this beautiful convertible didn't make it into regular production.

Unlike the coupe, the design of the top on this convertible didn't allow for rear quarter windows. This created a fairly large blind spot in the drivers rearward vision.

The photo of this car next to a US Air Force Convair TF-102 A "Delta Dagger" jet was taken at the Yankee Air Museum in Belleville, MI.

In the photo below you can see the rigid metal boot for the convertible top. The caps on the leading edges are fiberglass, although other original caps were canvas.

The owner of this car has more pictures and information about it available on another website.
