1965 Ford Fairlane 500

The top of the line Fairlane 500 had a full length chrome trim strip on each side, and chrome trimed windows as seen here. In back, the new taillights were squared off.

The four door sedan shown here has the 200 cubic inch,120 hp six cylinder engine and the optional Cruise-O-Matic automatic transmission.

The standard transmission was a three speed manual with a column shift. A four speed manual transmission with a floor shift was available.

A V8 engine was available as an option.

For 1965 the wheelbase of the sedans and hardtop increased by one-half inch to 116 inches. Overall length grew to 198.4 inches, an increase from 197.6 inches.
