Falcon Futura Convertible
The 1963 Ford Falcon offered three convertibles, the Futura, Futura
Sport and Sprint.
The Sport and Sprint versions had bucket seats and a console. Engines
were a six or a 260 cubic inch V8.
The Sprint version has a identifying script on the front fenders, ahead
of the wheels.
All 63 Falcons shared a 109.5 inch wheelbase and a 70.6 inch overall
width.
The convertibles, sedans, and the hardtop were 181.1 inches long, the
station wagons and the ranchero pickup were 189 inches long.
1963 Falcon engines included a 144 c.i.d. 85hp six, a 170 c.i.d., 101hp
six, and a 260 c.i.d., 164hp V8.
Three transmissions were offered. a 3 speed colum shift manual, a 4
speed floor shift manusl, and a 2 speed Fordomatic.
The car shown here has an aftermarket radio mounted under the dashboard
and an aftermarket compass mounted on top of the dash as well as an
aftermarket accessory removable cup holder sitting on the transmission
tunnel.
