1949 Buick Super Sedanette
The Super was the mid level series Buick for 1949. It featured three
portholes on the front fenders. New on all 1949 Buicks were parking
lights on top of the front fenders and new taillights on the top of
the rear fenders.
The Super came with a 248 c.i.d. inline eight cylinder engine that
produced 115hp. A three speed manula transmission was standard.
The optional Dynaflow automatic transmission, brought a slight increase
in horsepower to 120 thanks to an increase in compression ration in
the engine.
The 1949 Buick Super had a 121 inch wheelbase and an overall length
of 209.5 inches. The large accessory bumper guards would have made the
car a couple inches longer.
The fog lights, white wall tires, sun visor and large bumper guards
on this car would have been options or after market accessories.
