Here is a 1936 Auburn Cabriolet wih the top down.

This was one of the Auburns, Cords and Duesenbergs that filled the street around the ACD Museum in Auburn, IN. at the beginning of the Auburn Fall Festival in 2002.

This hood ornament from the 1936 Auburn shows that as automakers have eliminated stand up hood ornaments, for the most part for safety or cost reasons, they have also eliminated a bit of character from the modern automobile.
