Ford Pictures: 1970 & Later

Just like at other US auto makers, the 70's saw big changes at Ford. The gas crisis as well as eviromental and safety concerns drove many of those changes.

The muscle era pretty much ended in 1972.

Small cars like the Pinto were coming into their own, competing with a growing number of small imports.

In a effort to increase fuel efficiency, down sizing was more or less the rule of the day throught the nid to late 70's affecting both car and engines.
