Of course Chrysler Corp beacmae part of Diameler Chrysler, the result of a merger with Diamler Benz, makers of the Mercedes Benz. That lasted for a few years.

In 2009 Chrysler went through a bankruptcy and as a result became partially owned and controlled by Fiat of Italy.
