The 1967 Pontiac GTO, based on the Tempest body, came with a big 400 c.i.d. V8 that developed 335 horsepower as standard equipment.

A 360hp engine was an option. The standard engine had a 4v carb, a 2v carb was a no cost option for those who wanted better economy.
