The muscle car era was coming to an end by 1972, but the Mustang was still available with a pretty 351 c.i.d. V8 engine.

The horse power was rated at 266 net hp, in previous years HP was talked about in terms of "brake hp" which makes a direct comparison of power a little harder.

At any rate, put that 351 in a Sportback like this and you had plenty of power for a little Saturday night cruising.
