1969 Chevy Malibu SS

Here is a 1969 Chevelle Malibu with the SS option. This car was available with 4 different engines. The bore and stroke was 4.09 X 3.76, so they were actually 396 cid
engines.

Some sources claim these were actually 402 cid, however, the 402 cid with a bore of 4.126 did not come out until 1970. The four versions were a standard 325 HP, a 350 HP, and two different 375 HP versions. The top one had aluminum heads, engine code L89. A 425 HP 427 cid L72 could be had through the special order COPO process.
