MSRA Back to the 50's WeekendJune 17 - 19, 2011 Once again the MSRA Back to the 50's Weekend drew over 11,000 cars. While over half came from Minnesota, there were cars there from 41 states plus Canada and other countries. I've always enjoyed going to this show. This year it rained some on Saturday afternoon, and we were all the way across the fairgrounds from our 63 Falcon convertible when it started. Fortuanely, unlike Friday, we had left the top and windows up. There are always so many cars at this show it's hard to really look at them all, even if you go all 3 days. And then there are the vendors, I don't know how many were there, but it was plenty. Happily I did find a literature vendor that had a few pieces I wanted. The swap meet on Sunday always brings out some good stuff too. Here are a few photos of some of the cars we saw at the show.

I'm a little partial to cars like this little 1961 AMC Rambler American convertible. I like small cars, and my first new car was a 63 Rambler American. The Rambler American Custom series came with a a 195 c.i.d inline 6 that made 125hp. Not exactly overpowered, but a 24hp advantage over Falcon, Corvair, Valiant.
This two door 1937 Lincoln Zephyr hatchback Woody started life as a 4 door sedan. That takes a pile of wood and work, but it came out looking great!
From the highly customized Lincoln we go to this very nice 41 Cadillac convertible sedan. These two cars and the 28 Ford coupe (as well as the rest of the cars shown here) below show the wide variety of cars that show up at the MSRA Back to the 50's.
Want to go Hot Rodding? Get yourself a cool little coupe like this five window 28 Ford.
This cool looking 64 Buick Wildcat has the sporty bucket seat style interior that was gaining popularity with car buyers in the early sixties by folks who didn't need a six passenegr car.
This 35 Ford two door sedan has a great paint job with some outstanding flames. An interesting side note is the single windshield wiper mounted above the windshield.
