Studebaker National MeetJuly 2009 Studebakers were out in force for the 2010 Studebaker Drivers Club national meet in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, and we were there happily snapping a few photos. Along with a large gathering of Studebakers there were several Avanti IIs, a 1927 Erskine, and a few Packards on display. Erskine, envisioned as a less expensive, European flavored car had a short life being produced only from 1927 to 1930. Packard bought Studebaker in 1954 but 1958 was the last year the Packard name appeared on a new car. The 1957 and 58 Packards were largely rebadged tudebakers with some trim differences. The 1958 Studebaker Golden Hawk and 1958 Packard Hawk are prime examples of this. The Packard getting a different grille in the process. * Also shown in our Studebaker Photo Gallery section.
