Berlinsville, Pennsylvania

August 9, 2008
Corvette Roundup: a show with a twist

The Big Corvette Roundup (www.corvetteroundup.com) is gearing up for its second year August 9, 2008 and promises to be bigger and better. What makes this show different from the rest is that there is something to do from dusk to well after dawn. The car show begins at noon ends at 6pm, gates open at 10am for registration, there will be a judged car show with a multitude of categories with trophies awarded, trivia questions with prizes throughout the day, a optional gimmick rally, an optional slow drag race (the last car to cross the finish line at an idle wins), door prizes, goody bags and dash plaques for the first 200 cars and music. So far it sounds like another car show oh but you’re wrong. The Roundup is held at Becky’s Drive-In Theatre (www.beckysdi.com) in Berlinsville Pennsylvania which is at the Pocono mountain foothills, a two to three hour drive from most many major cities in the Northeast. Becky’s Drive-In first opened in 1945 and has been in operation every summer since then. Becky’s is a throw back to our childhood it is meticulously maintained has 2 screens and shows 2 feature films per screen and can accommodate up to 700 vehicles. It’s not unusual to see children sitting in the back of the family station wagon in their pajamas watching the movie waiting for intermission to stand in line at the concession stand for cotton candy and a hot dog. The only noticeable change is the absence of the speaker poles. Becky’s broadcasts the sound over an FM signal which allows you to either listen on your car’s radio or to sit outside on a bag chair in front of you car listening to it on your boom box. Many people will reserve a room in nearby Allentown PA instead of driving home after the movies are over, if you decide to do this you may wish to do a little sight seeing in the Historic town of Jim Thorpe or the Delaware water gap before you head home.

The Corvette Roundup is sponsored by The Corvette Club of Delaware Valley www.ccdv.com which is one of the oldest and largest local Corvette clubs in the USA. We are a non profit organization and we support many nationwide and local charities as well as scholastic scholarships.

Roundup pre-registration $15 per car must be received before Aug 1, 2008
Registration will be $20 per car on the day of the show.
Optional Rally fee $15 per car there will be a 40 car limit so please pre-register for this event.

You can pay for the movie at the event if you decide to stay for it.

Please make checks payable to CCDV, a registration form can be found at www.corvetteroundup.com or you can send a check with a note including your name, address, telephone number and email address to:
