"SPRING THING" Car Show
Kansas City’s Punk Rods car club presents the "SPRING THING"- Car Show, Live Music, and Movies Saturday April 26th 4pm-1am at the Boulevard Drive-In 1051 Merriam Lane Kansas City, Kansas.

More of a ‘cruise night with bands and movies’ than a formal car show: no trophies, no classes, no restrictions. But you can still expect to see the kinds of Nostalgia and Low Buck Rods, Kustoms, and ‘Cycles you expect from a Punk Rods event.

There will also be a special Show-within-the-Show: The 1st Annual ‘NO-GAS-NATIONALS’ section- crazy, backyard-engineered oddball powered creations: kustom bicycles, soapbox racers, steam, electric, diesel, alky, whatever- powered contraptions!! We also encourage any oddball Gas-powered stuff to park in this section: 2 stroke, Lawn mower engine, inline, radial, etc...neat, different stuff- you get the picture!

Music will be KING KING, and Gary Cloud's THE QUINDEROS. Bands will start around 5 and play until dark.

The movies will be ‘World’s Fastest Indian’- the inspiring story of Kiwi ‘lone nut’ gearhead genius Bert Munro, and ‘Thrashin’‘- 80's punk rock skateboard cult classic! We’ll be charging 7 bucks a head at the gate, kids under 12 free. Square Cars* will be allowed to park in the back. (*Modern cars)

ALSO- Knucklebusters Mo. Chapter is hosting a ‘junkyard crawl’ that Saturday 8am-4pm (approx.). Check the Knucklebusters site for more info www.knucklebustersmo.com.

AND- Sunday April 27th- Midwest Gravity Riders and the ‘Eddies’ Bike Club will be (loosely) organizing a no-holds-barred outlaw Gravity Vehicle Race early AM with a ‘pit stop’ for the Punk Rods Coffee Cruise at the COFFEE BREAK- 5400 Troost, Kansas City, Missouri 11am- 1pm. Then another secret Gravity Race at 1pm.

The Races are open to gravity bikes, long boards, road luge, soap box racers, etc. No technical rules, but steering and brakes are recommended. Find out Race locations at related events...(that’s why it’s called ‘outlaw’, see?)

I have been hearing rumors of (and seeing some) people building pretty wild stuff! This is gonna be neato! For more information, e-mail lospunkrods@yahoo.com
